A Family of Quality Publications Celebrating the Place We Call Home
Laurie MacDiarmid will read from her most recent poetry publication, Consolation Prize. MacDiarmid is a Professor of Literature and Writer in Residence at St. Norbert College. Previous publications include Float, and various magazine inclusions. Co-sponsored by The Reader's Loft. Call or visit our website for more information: http://www.theartgarage.org
What makes a good story? What parts of writing from life are difficult? Honoring the autobiography found in her most recent book of poetry, Laurie MacDiarmid invites area writers for an afternoon workshop to discuss their own life stories. Writing can be in any format (poetry, fiction, nonfiction) but should be a read-out-loud length (2 pages if prose, or 1 piece of poetry). Together, participants will discuss each other’s work, offer suggestions for improvement and nudge you to the next stage in your writing. Call or visit our website for more information. http://www.theartgarage.org
