A century ago, in 1913, the Art Institute of Chicago became the first art museum in the country to present the work of a young Spaniard who would become the preeminent artist of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso. The museum celebrates the special 100-year relationship between Picasso and Chicago by bringing together over 250 of the finest examples of the artist’s paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, and ceramics from private collections in the city, as well as from the museum’s collection, for the first large-scale Picasso exhibition organized by the museum in almost 30 years.

March 1st-30th, The Hang Up Gallery of Fine Art will feature the art exhibit: “40 Parts Vermilion” by Michael O’Connell.
Artist statement: “40 Parts Vermilion as a collection has only red as its common denominator. Painting in reds alleviates some of the grimness of winter, so I managed for all of the ensuing winter work to carry at least some red. Maybe the energizing force of red that the painter feels can carry over as well with the viewer. This forty piece collection, with its dozen tropical birds, features figures, landscapes and satires.”
Sponsored by the Green Bay Arts Unlimited organization and NWTC. An Annual Spring Exhibit, it is an open event with works judged in two categories: hobbyist and professional.
Kimberly High School Theatre is proud to present the American Expressionist drama, Machinal, by Sophie Treadwell. The play's title means "automatic" or "mechanical" in French. Treadwell wrote the play based loosely on the murder trial of Ruth Snyder and her lover, Judd Gray, who together murdered Snyder's husband. Convicted of murdering her husband, Snyder later received the electric chair. Out of this event came the powerful, demanding drama, Machinal. This play is a powerful drama about women's forced financial dependency upon men during the 1920s and their trapped existence in a male-dominated, oppressive wasteland.
