Mayor Jim Schmitt will be joined by Mason Crosby and Johnathan Franklin on Tuesday, December 10th from 5-7 p.m. for an informal fundraising event at Riverside Ballroom.
Mayor Schmitt has lined up a winning combination of politics and football players, sure to attract many members of the Green Bay community.
“The citizens of Green Bay are passionate about both the Green Bay Packers and politics,” said the Mayor. “This event will give people the opportunity to network, ask questions, and join me in discussing exciting developments for the city.”
The Mayor is also excited about his special guests. Mason Crosby and Johnathan Franklin will be speaking—Franklin himself has had aspirations to be mayor of Los Angeles! The players will be joined by some of their colleagues as well.
Got a new gadget over the holiday? We want your old one! The Friends of the Wildlife Sanctuary and Norsec Computer Recyclers will take old electronics and appliances like TVs, computer equipment, CD, DVD and VHS players, stereo equipment, game consoles, washers, dryers and just about everything in between for recycling. A portion of the recycling fees will help support the Friends group. Drop off area is at the Nature Center’s lower parking lot. A $10 fee applies to TVs, computer monitors and anything containing Freon.
The Green Bay branch of Waterstone Mortgage will welcome the holiday season with a special shopping event to benefit Toys for Tots.
Branch Manager Jacque Georgia and her team will host a Wine Tasting and Shopping Soiree at their new location at 812 Cormier Road from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4th.
This event is open to the public and all members of the Green Bay community are welcome to attend. At the event, attendees will sample wines, mingle, and finish their holiday shopping with local vendors. Vendors will include Scentsy, WildTree, Thirty-One, Lia Sophia, and Jewell Handbags. All attendees are encouraged to bring a toy to benefit the Toys for Tots charity. Local Marines will be present to accept any donations.
The Arc Fox Cities, Inc. is happy to invite you to its 11th Annual Tea Party and Fashion Show fundraiser!

Readers will have plenty to be thankful for at the Friends of the Library Used Book Sale at the Oshkosh Public Library. This month’s sale will be on Tues., Nov. 26, from
10 a.m. to 7 p.m., in the library’s lower level Book Cellar area.
This is the final sale of 2013, so don’t miss this opportunity to stock up on mysteries, romances, westerns, paperbacks and other fiction by best-selling authors. Expecting visitors during the holiday season? Pick up a few books and DVDs to have around the house. Children and adults will appreciate having something to read or watch during that “down time” between holiday celebrations.

In the interest of going green, the Friends ask that shoppers bring a reusable bag to carry their purchases. After visiting the book sale, stop in at the Friends Gift Shop on the library’s first floor and check out items including sturdy canvas book bags, decorative glassware and handcrafted book shelves.

Share the joy of reading, give a child in need a new book this winter season. All books collected will be delivered to local children by the Salvation Army and the Boys & Girls Club. Drop boxes are located at the entrance to the Appleton Public Library and the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. Donations can be dropped off from Nov 1-Dec 9. Cash or check donations may be dropped off at the Children's Services Desk at APL.
