Everyone worries about something. Sometimes worry and anxiety can be healthy. It can be a powerful motivator to ensure a task is completed or a change is made in a person’s home or workplace. However for some, that worry and anxiety can become overwhelming and problematic, leading to anxiety attacks and panic disorder.

ThedaCare Behavioral Health psychiatrist Tasha Farrar, MD, will talk about the biological function of anxiety, when professional assistance is appropriate, and ways to manage anxiety in a free presentation called “Why We Worry: The Purpose of Anxiety and how to Manage it.” The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thurs., Sept., 9, in the Maplewood Room at Appleton Medical Center.

To register for this free one and a half hour presentation, people may go to the ThedaCare website or call ThedaCare On Call at (920) 830-6877 or (800) 236-2236. Each person must register separately.
